Nanny Statists Sue to Keep Hotdogs Out of School
Nothing could be more American than hotdogs. Nothing could be more anti-American than suing to prevent them from being served:
The Los Angeles school district has been sued for serving hot dogs and other processed meats to students. An ABC News story says the activist group Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine filed the suit claiming the products increase the risk of cancer. The suit asks the court to block the district from offering processed meats. It also seeks the same ban for a school district in San Diego County.
The North American Meat Institute calls the lawsuit a publicity stunt. Their spokeswoman Janet Riley says the institute stands by the nutrition benefits of fresh and processed meats for growing children.
The Los Angeles district is the nation’s second-largest with more than 660,000 students.
Look for future suits to target apple pie, the flag, and motherhood.
