Half of Republicans would support illegal Trump measures

Post by jeanV » Fri Aug 11, 2017 12:19 pm

In a poll, about half of Republican voters (the younger, less educated and kek matoubs)

say they would support Trump holding off the 2020 elections to stay in power.

In a new poll, half of Republicans say they would support postponing the 2020 election if Trump proposed it

Critics of President Trump have repeatedly warned of his potential to undermine American democracy. Among the concerns are his repeated assertions that he would have won the popular vote had 3 to 5 million “illegals” not voted in the 2016 election, a claim echoed by the head of a White House advisory committee on voter fraud.

Claims of large-scale voter fraud are not true, but that has not stopped a substantial number of Republicans from believing them. But how far would Republicans be willing to follow the president to stop what they perceive as rampant fraud? Our recent survey suggests that the answer is quite far: About half of Republicans (..)

The survey interviewed a sample of 1,325 Americans from June 5 through 20. (..)

After a series of initial questions, (..) the survey asked two questions about postponing the 2020 election.

What if both Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress were to say that the 2020 presidential election should be postponed until the country can make sure that only eligible American citizens can vote? Would you support or oppose postponing the election?

Nearly half of Republicans (47 percent) believe that Trump won the popular vote, which is similar to this finding. Larger fractions believe that millions of illegal immigrants voted (68 percent) and that voter fraud happens somewhat or very often (73 percent). Again, this is similar to previous polls.

Moreover, 52 percent said that they would support postponing the 2020 election, and 56 percent said they would do so if both Trump and Republicans in Congress were behind this.(..)

This support was also more prevalent among Republicans who were younger, were less educated, had less factual knowledge of politics and strongly identified with the party.(..)

Not going to happen anyway. Or not under Trump at least. The electorate is waking up to the fact that he's a congenital idiot and that is why his support is plummeting. He'll be out of office long before then. A great pity as the lulz would continue. Although saying that, perhaps the lulz would stop long before then. After all, North Korea also has an idiot running it and the lulz ended there long ago. The humorous aspect of America electing Trump is in part because of a democracy voluntarily electing a moron to office; cancel elections and it's no longer voluntary and we're talking dictatorship. Even I would struggle to find that funny. Would President Pence cancel elections? Possibly, but not very likely is it?

I told you before, you're far too pessimistic.

The Russia collusion was so amateurish it won't amount to enough to impeach Trump.

Which means another 3 years 1/2 of an incompetent, compulsive tweeting idiot at the helm.

Which, in more practical terms for you, means another 3 years 1/2 of LULZ.

You could well be right. Trump is far too stupid to actually be able to collude but he can be easily manipulated by the Russians. All that they need do is to praise him. I still think that they'll impeach him though. Not for collusion but rank stupidity which must surely make him unfit for office. They'll just use Russian collusion as an excuse. I doubt whether the Founding Fathers thought to put "As thick as two short planks" as a reason to impeach someone when they wrote the Constitution. It probably never occured to them that someone who struggles to tie his shoelaces would ever be elected president.

So, you're betting on Trump being impeached, right?

I thought the man was unpopular, and now we learn that half of the republicans are ready to follow him in a coup. Who cares about coherence as long as the sweet polls keep coming? It's always the same thousand of attention-whores with a landline, they are waiting the pollsters' calls like the visit of a relative.

Oh you denied making predictions about that impeachment thing, but now you are ready to take bets. Won't happen, people know you suck at predicting current world events and don't pay your bets.

Mmmhhhh. I suppose logic classes haven't hit the banks of the MdM sweet shores yet, uh?

Trump's popularity <= +/- 36% of the US total population

below 1/2 of the Republicans <= +/- 24% of the US total population

Now, do you understand why a minority of the population still might love Trump?

1/4 of the population is a powerful minority, Macron was elected with a little bit less voters. We are talking of hardcore fans here, there are more moderate voters, but they can't exist in your fantasy world, you really wanna make the reality fits your dumb polls' numbers so hard it's hilarious.

We are winning the cultural war since day one but JeanV is too square to get it, he probably see young businessmen everyday in Singapore streets with Alt-Right memes and symbols on their clothes and cars and he can't get it, the poor old bastard!

Well, since you mention businessmen, here's an unofficial poll
of business people's opinions of Trump at one large American MNC in Singapore:

- Americans: embarrassed and apologetic
- Europeans: sniggering
- Asians: laughing their asses off

SG MNC Americans are emulating their hosts' typical attitude (when in Rome...)
SG MNC Euros are being typical French.
Local MNC Asians are laughing because they are embarrassed to see how their expat colleagues are behaving.

Well, that's the part where I can give the most background information.

By virtue of some of my 15 wives being Singaporean, I had ample opportunity to measure

how universally mocked and reviled Benedict Arnold Trump is among the local population.

Did I ever support Hillary?

Didn't I say it was a Faustian choice between two ill-suited candidates?

But the photo is indeed me when I learnt Trump got elected.

I imagine it must be quite the brouhaha when Donald Trump's name is pronounced in your neo-marxist circles, but i see that the singaporean people are much more nuanced on the topic:

https://www.cnbc.com/video/2016/11/09/s ... trump.html

I wouldn't be surprised if i heard our dear president is a cartoon hero on Singaporean TV, giving advices about the Art of the deal to the funny little yellow bastards.

President Lee said, after congratulating Trump for his victory:

"Many will celebrate this result, while others will understandably be surprised and disappointed. But like the Brexit referendum in June, Mr Trump’s victory is part of a broader pattern in developed countries – reflecting a deep frustration with the way things are, and a strong wish to reassert a sense of identity, and somehow to change the status quo."

It took all the deftness of PL Lee to sugarcoat how damaging to US/Singapore relations Trump is:

- after his election, Trump affected the Singaporean pocketbook by abandoning the TPP

- and before his election, Trump had already targeted Singapore by name

PS: don't you think it's funny you trying to tell me what Singaporeans think of Trump?

Donald Trump Accuses Singapore Of Stealing American Jobs

Over the weekend in his last rally before Americans went to the polls, Donald Trump took to the stands in Tampa, Florida to address his supporters.

His main agenda? American jobs. Singapore Caught In The Crossfire

(..) This is mainly due to the manufacturing sector relocating to these countries, given that operational costs are lower. Trump then laid down the stats as to how much America has lost.

70,000 factories was moved away from America, especially after China entered the World Trade Organisation, and he called the “the greatest job theft in the history of the world”.

He then proceeds to call out individual companies who were guilty of this ‘theft’. First on the chopping block was Goodrich Lighting Systems who moved to India, laying off some 255 Americans.

Singapore was next in line to the firing squad, as Trump singles out Baxter Healthcare Corporation for laying off 199 workers in their move to the little red dot.

And last was Essilor Laboratories, who moved their operations into Mexico, leaving 181 Americans jobless.

This sentence is wrong on at least 5 counts:

- Trump isn't 'your' president
- Lee isn't a president at all (PM)
- blabber isn't caning, the jobs landed in glorious Singapore
- PM Lee would indeed agree to more jobs transfers, and...
- he doesn't need to beg because he does things. Unlike the fat lazy fake alt right WH clown.

1: If there was a war with Macronist France, i would collaborate with Trump americans in a heartbeat, all hail the God-Emperor!

2: Lee is just the mayor of a disgusting city, case closed.

4: Lee has already met Trump, he knows he gonna be sold to China if he doesn't fix things soon. That will be your last thread Jean, "Trump surrenders to China" then they will cut your internet access and this place will thrive again.

5: well as i sourced it, your Lee said he was OK with Trump and Brexit, but it looks like you won't dare to criticize him even with your masked IP.
